I'm Chris, and I am running to be your Indiana State Representative in District 72. I'm running because working Hoosiers need a better chance to succeed in this increasingly rigged economy. Raised in New Albany by a single mother, my family lived in poverty. Through my family, friends, faith, and the investment of many public school teachers, I was able to succeed and thrive. My community instilled in me the values of hard work, innovation, and lending a helping hand.
Working Hoosiers need a state government that works for them. They need opportunities to thrive. Those opportunities can only come about with better paying jobs, healthcare they can depend on, and a public education system that prepares each student for college or career.
Currently I work for Louisville Metro Government with a team that is doing vital work in abating vacant and abandoned properties in Louisville. In my free time, I enjoy exploring all the new businesses opening in Floyd County (you can usually find me at a local coffee shop), eating breadsticks and beer cheese at Richo's, and sometimes walking into the YMCA.
This is just the start of a conversation. In the coming weeks, I will be posting and talking about what the statehouse should be doing to make sure every Hoosier thrives.
